Christi Demuth

Christi_Demuth2A modern day woman who knows how to laugh, love and live.Happily married mother of 5 sons and 3 granddaughters residing in Carlsbad, California. She was very active and healthy when 8 years ago contracted Inflammatory Bowel Disease, affecting the intestines.  After much research she came to realize that the pesticides and processed foods that are prevalent in our society played a huge roll in her illness. She did not go on the conventional treatment of steroids and anti-biotic’s or as one doctor suggested; surgery.  As an alternative opted to change her lifestyle and diet by eating and juicing all organic as well as organic homemade yoghurt and natural soil minerals taken as a pro-biotic. Slowly then pretty rapidly she was able to overcome her debilitating disease. Now, she is passionately involved in educating and promoting positive healthy eating habits–no white sugars, bleached flours, harmful chemicals, or preservatives.

Born and raised in Southern California until her teens when her family moved to Las Vegas NV.  A natural born people person who loves to organize her community for public works projects; doing cleanup, beautification and painting on homes whose owners can not afford or are not physically able to keep up with their residences.

After graduating high school, she held two jobs at the same time– a rental car company she was managing in 6 months after hire, and as a tour guide on the Las Vegas Strip. After marriage while raising her sons she worked part-time as a marketing asst. When the time was right she launched a successful retail store in Las Vegas, NV, along with many years of selling Real Estate, her hard work and personal commitment to her customers and employees paid off. When the store was offered a large buyout, she decided time to take a year off to experience other cultures. Her commitment to growing, eating and living a natural chemical free life, became so strong she made a change in her professional path. In 2008 she got heavily involved in the Obama for America campaign starting in February where she was number 5 in the nation for phone calls to Texas. In early March she flew to Pennsylvania and became the office manager for the  Westmoreland County campaign headquarters; volunteering 12 hour days, 7 days a week for 6 weeks. As the campaign heated up she was an ardent blogger who debunked lies and political urban myths through social networking sites and blogs. In early September she was named Office Manager for the largest campaign office in Nevada where she stayed up until a few days before the election as she had to get home to vote. Her latest collaborative venture HG Edible Landscaping has  keyed up in Christi that same enthusiastic passion. She feels fortunate to have an opportunity to be dedicated to empowering society in a career that uses her skills in marketing as well as her knowledge of the benefits organic foods to help people become healthier, more eco friendly, and less reliant on corporate giants who dominate our food system.
